Wedding Shower Gifts - Solutions for Everyone

By: Matthew Hick

If you need the perfect gift for a couple’s wedding shower, then read on. Here are some helpful tips that will guide you through the process. Don’t worry, you will find something that they will surely love!

Household needs.
Let’s face it, when they start off, every bride and groom needs supplies for around the house or apartment that they will live in. Household gifts are among the top choices for gifts that most brides register for. So check out the bride’s registry and see if anything entices you. If you feel that you want to give something that will benefit BOTH the bride and groom, don’t shy away from buying that toaster. You know that the groom will use it just as much as the bride! Other popular household items include towels, dishes, fine china, silverware, glasses, bedding, bath/shower curtains, bathroom rugs, vacuums, kitchen appliances, bakeware, brooms, and mops.

Hobbies.
If you know that the bride and groom both like a certain hobby and share it together, then why not get them something to use for this hobby? Try not to get something just for the bride or just for the groom (i.e. if the groom likes basketball and the bride has no interest, don’t just present the bride with a basketball). But if both the bride and groom enjoy horseback riding, why not give them a gift certificate to enjoy a day at a local stable where they can ride horses and get away from the bustle of everyday life? Both the bride and groom would love it!

Gift certificates.
Nowadays, more and more brides and grooms are having gift certificate weddings, where all the gifts must be in gift certificate form. Some couples even request that their guest give them honeymoon gift certificates. For example, if the couple is going to Disney World for their honeymoon, they may request gift certificates to certain restaurants at the park, or gift certificates for the spa at their resort. This type of gift can be extremely beneficial – especially to a couple that must pay for their entire honeymoon by themselves.

Money.
If you are really stumped with what to get the happy couple, remember that you can never go wrong by presenting them with a monetary gift. This gift can easily be presented in a wedding shower card that you can find in any store that sells cards. The bride and groom will definitely be able to put your monetary gift to good use – whether it is on their honeymoon or while it is starting out in their new life together. And if they are paying for their own wedding, they will be extremely thankful to you!

Whatever you choose to give to the bride and groom for a wedding shower gift, they will certainly realize that you had the best intentions and want nothing but happiness for them. That being said, have fun at the shower and enjoy the wedding – that is what it is all about!
